This is one of one of three panels in a 3.6 KW dual axis tracker solar system. As you can see from the photo, when placing panels close to a house or near a beautiful landscape, (in this case next to a pond and a garden,) you might opt for a number of smaller ground [...]
This is a 2.9 KW off-grid adjustable pole mount PV solar system. This is an example of a remote location site where installing a solar system was less expensive- and a better long term investment- than paying to build additional utility power lines to the client’s home. The solar electric array provides a majority of [...]
This grid-tied installation in Rochester, Vermont is set on an adjustable wooden ground mount. Our solar installer created the system to run in a high voltage series back to a step down transformer in charge controller. The day after we converted his system from off-grid to battery back-up, our client’s entire neighborhood lost power. The [...]
This is a 20 panel solar installation on two adjustable tilt ground mounts. This system is located on the north side of a large open area, in a field next to a newly revived organic farm. At the Solar Specialists we appreciate the synergy of renewable energy and organic farming practices.
This is a 3 collector solar hot water system designed to meet a majority of the home’s hot water needs. This is an AC drive system, using a differential controller to regulate circulation of glycol to a stainless steel solar storage tank.
This 5.4 KW solar system is a good example of how we’re able to integrate solar panels into older buildings. This structure is part of Barton Veterinary Hospital and was designed to produce 80% of the hospital’s electricity. The structure was a unique challenge, with unusual timber framing and variable attachments at the roof. The [...]
In this picture our client is standing under a pole mounted solar system with 12 panels. The scale of this photo gives a good idea of the size of the panels. We worked with the client to create the best solar system for the sloping terrain beneath his home. Instead of placing the panels next [...]
This solar system is mounted on the client’s barn. The modules are attached to the standing seam roof with non-penetrating clips. The system was designed to meet 100% of the client’s annual electrical needs. We worked with the utility company to form a group net metering setup. Solar energy production from the barn is credited [...]
This is a ground mounted high quality solar thermal system with two flat plate collectors. The collectors are mounted on a wood and concrete base, and the lines are buried 30 feet back to the house. In order to protect against heat loss to the ground, the lines are super insulated and buried in sand. [...]
Solar thermal panels that are custom mounted on a residential roof focus on summer energy collection.
This is a 2.8 kW grid connect pole mounted solar system in Worcester, VT. The monocrystalline panels were installed in an area of the property that maximized solar energy collection.
This is a 7.2 kW solar electric system. It is mounted on 3″ galvanized pipes with aluminum rails and is fixed at a 40 degree tilt. The system sits on a beautiful and ideal site, atop a hill overlooking an open clearing. Even on a somewhat overcast day such as the one in the photo, [...]
We had the client stand in front of his two arrays to get a sense of scale. In this picture he is standing in front of a smaller 6 panel array. This installation was unique in that we had to work the mounts into the hillside to the south east of the house.
This grid-tied solar system is installed on two poles in the client’s back yard. Each pole holds 2,400 watts of high efficiency panels. The DC wires run back to the house underground and are joined together at the 5,000 watt grid connect inverter.
This system has three small dual axis trackers. The system performance has been great and is meeting production expectations. It is connected to the utility grid through a production meter at the garage. This was also the first residential system to be commissioned into GMP’s solar production program.
This is a 3 kW solar electric system installed in Craftsbury, VT. The clients choose to install this system on their business workshop. The panels are mounted onto standing seam with non-penetrating clips.
